Home Care Assistance Gives Back to Youth Caregiver

Caring for our elderly population is not just our job, it’s our passion. And we have an immense amount of admiration and respect for anyone who takes on the difficult job of caring for an aging loved one. Jonathan Gutierrez is a 15-year-old youth caregiver who is responsible for taking care of his mother, who has Multiple Sclerosis, his grandmother, who has Alzheimer’s, and his younger brother, who has a rare Cranial Nerve Disorder. His dedication to his family is one that is truly humbling, and one we feel should be rewarded. HCA wanted to help in any way we could, so we decided to award this courageous young man a full year of care—approximately a $52k value.

Beth Brown, our franchise owner in Palm Beach County, was moved by Jonathan’s story. Being a mother of three children, his story really hit home. She understands the immense burden caregiving can be on anyone, let alone a teenager. Her contributions hopefully not only allow him the opportunity to be a teenager again but sheds a light on the larger issues surrounding youth caregiving.
